Group Capt K Raghavendra, VM, is the Station Commander of 405 Air Force Station since 07 Jul 2008. He is an alumnus of National Defence Academy and was commissioned into the Air Force as a Transport Pilot in 1983. He has flown over 7500 hours on various Transport and Trainer a/c comprising of HPT-32, HJT-16, Kiran MK I, AVRO HS 748, DO-228 ac, IL-76 a/c and the latest IL-78 MK I, the In Flight Refueller. He is a graduate of Defence Services Staff College, Wellington and has undergone Higher Air Command Course at College of Air Warfare.
During his service career he has had the distinction of commanding a VIP Communication Flight and the only Flight Refuelling System of the IAF,apart from holding an important staff appointment at Air Headquarters. For his distinguished services in the Indian Air Force he was conferred with the Vayu Sena Medal by the President on 26 Jan 2007
The Investiture Ceremony for the School appointments was held on Saturday ,20 June 2009. Ajeet Gp Capt K Raghavendra ,Station Commander ,405 Air Force Station,Sambra,Belgaum was the chief guest.The students and staff are inspired by his august presence on the occasion.
